Managed implementation of an internal web application for franchisee tracking using a modified SCRUM development methodology. Application was implemented in .NET/Oracle. UI design and requirements were provided by the client; development, QA, and context-sensitive help were provided by a vendor management company in multiple locations.

Managed development of a web application published on global manufacturing/sales company’s external website. Agile development was used and a steep learning curve regarding the process and distributed vendor implementation was encountered and overcome. Application was developed in .NET and Oracle. Team was located in several U.S. and European locations and included vendor UI designers. Application was localized (two languages).

Managed a multi-year program to create a distributed point of sale application for a major manufacturing company. The project ran from the initial requirements stage through to distribution and maintenance. The project team spanned three continents with product management and business analysis in midwestern and western United States, UI design (vendor) on east and west coasts of the United States, development and QA (vendor) in Europe and test automation (vendor) in Asia. Product had both client and server components and was developed in .NET and Java using Oracle on both client and server. Staffing varied and included a minimum of two teams of engineers, two teams of quality engineers, a team of business analysts, subject matter experts, UI design and usability analysis. Support engineers were brought in prior to pilot distribution. Client distribution is expected to exceed 5000. A combination of waterfall and agile development methodologies was used.

Provide agile development process coaching at multiple companies. Services included initial presentation of and training in methodology; evaluation of current agile processes; design of agile process for best organizational fit; accommodation of both geographically distributed and outsourced organizations; and creation of an ‘Agile Cookbook’ to help multiple organizations within the same company implement the process in a similar way. Company size ranged from Fortune 500 to small start-up.

Created, documented and implemented the vendor (reseller) certification process for a major financial services company. Created certification criteria, testing methodology, and criteria update process. Developed initial ‘prototype’ application for use in tracking all certification criteria and validation (application was used for several years).

Created an agile software process for a major manufacturing company for a geographically distributed team. This process was used as the blueprint for software projects across the company. The process took into account multiple (six) time zones, functions as disparate as UI design and test automation, evolving requirements, remote installation, help functionality, and support.

Provided written analysis of resume, presentation and interviewing skills to help determine reason for client’s difficulty securing a suitable position. Included suggestions for improvement and plan for moving forward.

Ongoing training, coaching and advice on project management for multiple individual clients.

Created and taught class on interviewing skills including legal considerations, preparation, coordination, and behavioral interviewing.

Created and updated Adobe Acrobat forms for use online by a small landscaping company.

Updated existing client database/tracking functionality for small business (salon).

Created stand-alone MS Access application for small business (dance studio). Application tracks registration and contacts, schedules classes, creates registration letters, and enables costume measurement, ordering, and billing by family/ group or individual.
